From 2009-2012 I paid off 28,000 of my own debt. During that time I moved from Long Beach back to Whittier, met the man who is now my husband, and learned tons about how to manage my money. I'm back to blogging now that I'm married and my husband and I work to pay off his student loans. We're adding a baby to the mix this year, to keep things interesting. I don't own a home (and I'm just past 30) but I've come a long way on my financial journey!

Little by Little
I just transferred an extra $222.19 toward my car payment. I made my November budget, and that's the leftover that I can spare for sure. Hopefully I'll be able to transfer a little more at the end of the month, barring any emergencies. That's what I was able to spare after allotting money for Thanksgiving and a little more Christmas shopping, plus my car insurance payment, which was another $220...hopefully come January I'll be able to put down even more, since the holidays will be over.

Way to go! Transfering at the beginning of the month has proven to be a great payoff to me.
ReplyDeleteKeep it up
Ugg, I'm so jealous!! I can't wait to make my first big payment on my car at the end of the month. It would be next week, but because of the way my billing/pay cycles I have to hold the money in my account for a couple of weeks before I can make the payment.
ReplyDeleteShould we race to our car payoff? :) Just kidding! But I love that we have the same goal at the same time!
@TeacHer...yeah, let's race! :) If we lived near each other I'd suggest we meet up for a celebratory drink, but alas, it will have a virtual drink. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are doing GREAT! I love your focus on your goals.
ReplyDeleteI do the exact same thing! I budget and leave myself just a little bit so I can put more money towards my savings/CC debt.
ReplyDeleteI had a question - how do you get those money trackers on the right of your sidebar? New to blogging... thanks!!
