So, I took the plunge and finally tried out restaurants.com. They are having a sale where all their $25 gift certificates are only $2! (They are normall ten bucks). I bought three of them-one for a Thai place near my house, another sushi restaurant I've been wanting to try, and a third for a local pub. All three require a purchase of $35, but I figure if I go with the bf we'll reach that total and then save $25 off of our bills. I'm hoping this works out and becomes worth it. It'll be nice to have some cheap date nights, since we can easily rack up the totals when we go out to eat. And I couldn't resist $75 in gift certificates for only $6!
Has anyone out there used restaurants.com? Any advice?
I have been receiving emails from them, but I just delete the email. After reading this I am definatley going to check it out.
ReplyDeleteI use it a good bit, especially when they are having a sale. I really like using it when I'm looking for a place to go to dinner with friends. One of us buys the gift certificate, and everyone brings cash and we just pay the bill all together. It's a nice way to go out to dinner without breaking the bank.
ReplyDeleteI've used it a couple of times. But most places add a gratuity to the bill, so remember that. We didn't know that the first time and added a 20% on top of the 18% that was added.
ReplyDeleteI've used it a couple of times and really like it. As long as you read the fine print, I think it's a great way to save money and still enjoy eating out :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE restaurant.com! Your purchase had great timing--never buy these at the normal price because there is always a sale during any month. I usually wait for the 80% off times, but I've been lucky to find 90%, too! Enjoy and like others mentioned, read that fine print. :)
ReplyDeleteI've used restaurant.com alot! They are a great way to save money and try out new restaurants. The only downside to the site is that you have to keep track of which gift certificates you've used already. It can be confusing if you bought multiple gift certificates for one restaurant and you forgot to mark which one you used!
